General and Preventative Care
Routine preventive care is the best way to avoid extensive and costly dental procedures. Regularly scheduled hygiene appointments can help you maintain your oral health and keep your smile looking and feeling great!
Do you have a fear of dentist because of extraction? Our doctor will give you complete numb with a local anesthetic the area where the tooth will be removed.
A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or become infected. it may cause pain or non-symptomatic. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed while you are completely numbed. Root canal procedure has the reputation of being painful. However, most people report that the procedure itself if no more painful than having a filling placed. You may have discomfort and dull pain after numbness is worn off.
Oral exams are the most important dental procedure a patient can receive. Our experienced and caring doctors will perform a comprehensive oral exam upon your first visit. This exam includes identifying signs of cavities, gum disease, tooth loss, broken or ill fitting dentures, Temporomandibular joint and Dysfunction (TMJ), and oral cancer.
As part of your comprehensive oral examination, the doctor may require a new set of digital X-rays. Our office uses the latest in digital x-ray technology. Digital x-rays require 90% less radiation than the standard x-rays as well as provide instant electronic images.
Dental X-rays help dentists visualize diseases of the teeth and surrounding tissue that cannot be seen with a simple oral exam. In addition, X-rays help the dentist find and treat dental problems early in their development, which can potentially save you money, unnecessary discomfort, and maybe even your life. What Problems Can Dental X-Rays Detect? In adults, dental X-rays can be used to:
- Show areas of decay that may not be visible with an oral exam, especially small areas of decay between teeth
- Identify decay occurring beneath an existing filling
- Reveal bone loss that accompanies gum disease
- Reveal changes in the bone or in the root canal resulting from infection
- Assist in the preparation of tooth implants, braces, dentures, or other dental procedures
- Reveal an abscess (an infection at the root of a tooth or between the gum and a tooth)
- Reveal other developmental abnormalities, such as cysts and some types of tumors
- In children, dental X-rays are used to:
- Watch for decay
- Determine if there is enough space in the mouth to fit all incoming teeth
- Determine if primary teeth are being lost quickly enough to allow permanent teeth to come in properly
Periodontal (Gum Disease) Care
Periodontal disease commonly referred to as gum disease is present in 80% of adults. Bacterial plaque accumulates over time in and around the teeth along the gum line and between the teeth. Gum tissue creates pockets where food debris, plaque, and tartar collect causing infection. Treatment includes a non-surgical procedure called scaling and root planning that includes a careful cleaning of the root surfaces to remove plaque and tartar from the periodontal pockets. The tooth root is smoothed to remove bacterial toxins. This procedure is performed with local anesthetic and is virtually painless. Non-surgical periodontal treatment does have its limitations. When it does not achieve periodontal health, surgery may be indicated to restore periodontal health. Crowns and Bridges (Caps)
Sometimes, a dental crown may be the only option to save a severely injured tooth. Also known as a cap, a crown fits securely over a prepared tooth and will blend in with the natural color of your teeth. Both crowns and most bridges are fixed prosthetic devices. Unlike removable devices such as dentures, which you can take out and clean daily, crowns and bridges are cemented onto existing teeth or implants, and can only be removed by a dentist. Dr. Goldberg or Dr. Baer will place an all-ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) cap. A bridge may be used if more than one tooth is affected. The process for your custom crown or bridge usually takes two visits. One of our dentists will first prepare your teeth, then take an impression to send to our quality dental lab, where an expert will fabricate your crown or bridge. Our dentist will also fit you with a temporary crown to wear until the permanent one is completed. Once we receive the restoration from the lab, your crown or bridge can be permanently secured.

Implant surgery and Restoration
Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth that are made to match your natural teeth.
Complete and Partial Denture
Dentures are removable false teeth designed to replace missing teeth. We may recommend complete (full) dentures or partial dentures, depending on how many natural teeth you have lost. Dentures can be created to match your existing teeth, so they are not very noticeable. However, getting used to dentures can take a little practice, particularly when it comes to eating and speaking. Do you have lots of problem with teeth? You don't need to walk out without teeth any minutes. We can give you denture right after all teeth removed, which is called an immediate denture.
Veneer and Resin (white) Filling
If your front teeth are discolored and stained, chipped, cracked, slightly misaligned, or have a metal filling, you may want to consider veneers. Dental Veneers (sometimes called porcelain veneers or laminates) are thin and custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. Also, our office only uses a tooth-colored resin material for all restoration.
